I’ve been reading a lot of posts lately saying moisturizers don’t work. I’ve been there too. Like after going through countless bottles and tubes of different formulas, I understand how our emotions (not to mention our bank accounts!) can start to feel drained.Over the last few years, I’ve tried A LOT of moisturizer brands and types, and here’s what I’ve learned: Did you know that you can achieve the softest, most hydrated skin by just changing the way you moisturize?Tips for Moisturizing<ul><li>Use a gentle patting method Stop rubbing and wiping. Instead of your usual application method, try gently patting your skincare in. This action increases pressure and also heat, both elements that help your skincare to absorb better.</li><li>Exfoliate to remove build-up The build-up of dead skin cells over time doesn't allow your products to properly penetrate the skin. Remember to exfoliate regularly to "clear a path" for your moisturizer to absorb better.</li><li>Search for moisture-magnet ingredients I read somewhere that it’s important to look for 'Moisture magnet' ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, glycerin, sodium hyaluronate, ceramides, and natural alternatives to hyaluronic acid. These create a moisture 'reservoir' of sorts in the skin and anchor moisture where the skin needs it the most</li><li>Be mindful of your skin type If you have oily skin, you'll want to avoid thick, heavy, greasy moisturizers. Overly thick creams can cause the skin to become dependent on the moisturizer and not work as well.
